The Safe & Sound Program is a service to ensure the safety of the senior citizen population in Mad River Township and the Village of Enon. After enrolling in The Safe & Sound Program the Mad River Township Fire & EMS Department would come out to your residence and install a small key box to the outside of your home. Inside the key box there will be a key to your residence, only the fire department and police department would have access to this box. Every morning the resident would call 864-1601, a special line at the fire department and speak to a firefighter. The firefighter would then log the time that you called, ensuring that you are ok. If the resident does not call by 10:00 AM the fire department would attempt to call. If no one answers the fire department or police department would come to your residence and try to make contact, if there is no response the department would access the key box and enter the residence to ensure the residence safety. If the resident is out of town or in the hospital they would simply call the special line and the firefighter would log it into the book, so they would expect to not hear from you.
